Plumpton: Redundant Stiles

We were Surveying and found this odd result of change of use and operation.
On the ESCC Rights of Way Map https://row.eastsussex.gov.uk/standardmap.aspx there are four fields, cossed by a Public footpath PLU13/2, with stiles at each boundary, one with a gate. For many years the four fields have been united and the two middle stiles have been unused. The left hand one has disappeared, replaced by a redundant gate, and the right hand one has now been removed and used to replace the stile by the railway gates as this was decaying (see separate report).

In the left hand corner  the stile and gate have been replaced by a new stile, creating an odd “pound” with a few square metres of land accessible by stile only. The gate has been nailed shut with a crossbar. Change happens.
