Repair of Memorial Seat

A memorial bench (we have forgotton as to whom) in Ditchling had been reported as damaged. We investigated and found a wobbly seat, a missing rear slat and a broken seat slat.
With a block of wood to hold up the seat side-support and a 2400 length of planed and treated timber cut to length for the seat and with the remainder fitted into the back of the seat, the bench was made safe.
(It looks a bit odd, with a bright seat and back slat, but doubtless, in time, they will age somewhat)
